Bhilai, September 28, 2026 — Raising concerns over recurring waterlogging, timely resolution of civic complaints and transparency in urban development works, Sarvadharm Seva Sanstha, Bhilai submitted a suggestion letter addressed to the Chief Minister to Municipal Commissioner Ms. Suruchi Singh (IAS).
The organisation proposed introducing a digital system/mobile application titled “Mera Ward, Mera Hisaab” (My Ward, My Accountability) to make information related to civic development works easily accessible to citizens.
The suggestions include making public the name and location of each development work, sanctioned amount, tender amount, contractor or agency details, work commencement and completion dates, payment status, geo-tagged photographs and post-completion verification details.
The organisation also proposed a “Waterlogging Hotspot Map” identifying frequently affected locations, the reasons for waterlogging and information about proposed permanent solutions. An online complaint-tracking system was also suggested so that citizens can track inspections, actions taken and the status of resolution.
Other suggestions include an online “Meri Mulakat” (My Appointment) facility for meeting concerned officials and publishing simple, publicly accessible information regarding funds received by the municipal corporation and their utilisation.
The organisation suggested that such a digital transparency system could also be developed at the state level for other urban local bodies, including Risali, Durg, Bhilai-3 and Charoda. It also suggested studying useful practices followed by municipal corporations such as Indore and Surat.
Sarvadharm Seva Sanstha clarified that the objective of the suggestions is not to make allegations against any individual, officer, employee or elected representative, but to promote administrative transparency, citizen convenience and permanent solutions to civic problems.
Representatives and members including Pratik Bhoi, Rakesh Ratnakar, Ghanshyam Pandey, Vasant Salankar and Nohar Singh were present on the occasion.
