Sarvadharm Seva Sanstha, Bhilai, has submitted a proposal inspired by South Korea’s ‘Hope Tape’ initiative to explore greater public participation in locating missing children and persons.
The representation addressed to the Director General of Police (DGP), Chhattisgarh, was submitted at the Durg Range IG office and handed over to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. P. R. Kujur in the IG’s absence.
The proposal suggests exploring parcel packaging tape displaying verified photographs, essential information and an official contact number or QR code for missing-person alerts.
The organization has requested consideration of a pilot project involving the police, e-commerce companies, the postal department and courier services.
The initiative could provide an additional channel for public cooperation, while ensuring privacy, verified information and compliance with applicable laws.
